My Body, His Temple Ministry
"Creating healthy bodies and healthy minds; building physical and spiritual health and restoration"

1 Corinthians 6:19-20   (New International Version (NIV)

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

Look after your Body or you will have nowhere to Live. Always consult with your Doctor.

In today’s hectic world that we live in, maintaining our good health is important. It's easy to let stress take center stage and set us up for poor diet and poor lifestyle choices. Our diet, exercise and behavioral choices can have a significant effect on our health. If you have a poor or unhealthy diet, you may run the risk of weight gain or increased your risk of chronic diseases (like diabetes or high blood pressure). If you're not active regularly, you may also run the risk of gaining weight but also miss out on the many benefits of exercise. If you smoke, don't manage stress or don't sleep well, you again can run the risk of having negative side effects on your health. Maintaining a generally healthy body will require you to make sure you're making healthy choices in multiple areas of your life.
Remember that your body is a gift from God. Think about how you will feel if you see your friend absentmindedly damaging a gift you have given them. Imagine how God must feel when we abuse the bodies so tenderly and lovingly made for us.

Stay healthy, by practicing healthy food habits.
  • Always eat breakfast
  • Eat fruits and vegetables
  • Take time to shop for quality foods.
  • Sit down at a table to eat, not lie in bed.
  • Always carry a protein rich shake with you.
  • Have some green tea after meals.
  • Always carry a water bottle.
  • Choose wholegrain, low GI bread and  breakfast cereal.
  • Always eat carbohydrates and proteins together.

Watch those Calories!

Monitor calories. To have a generally healthy body, you should try to maintain a healthy weight. If you're overweight, you are not maintaining a generally healthy body.

Walking for 10,000 steps or exercising for one hour a day can be good for your health, always remember to ask your doctor's advice before starting any type of exercise.

What Are Calories?

The number of calories in a food is a measurement of the amount of energy stored in that food. Your body uses calories from food for walking, thinking, breathing, and other important functions. The average person needs to eat about 2,000 calories every day to maintain their weight.

However, a person’s specific daily calorie intake can vary depending on their age, gender, and physical activity level. Men generally need more calories than women, and people who exercise need more calories than people who don’t.

The following examples of daily calorie intake are based on United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines:

  • children ages 2 to 8: 1,000 to 1,400 calories
  • active women ages 14 to 30: 2,400 calories
  • sedentary women ages 14 to 30: 1,800 to 2,000 calories
  • active men ages 14 to 30: 2,800 to 3,000 calories
  • sedentary men ages 14 to 30: 2,000 to 2,600 calories
  • active men and women over 30: 2,200 to 3,000 calories
  • sedentary men and women over 30: 1,800 to 2,200 calories

The key to a healthy lifestyle is to provide each internal body system (digestive, immune, respiratory, circulatory, skeletal, endocrine, urinary, nervous, and respiratory, etc), the vital ingredients required and the amount needed, for ideal performance. With Ardyss you can.
